Pinus strobus 'Blue Shag'
A dwarf, slow-growing variety of white pine with soft blue-green needles. It grows in the form of a rather irregular, compact bush with a shape similar to a flattened ball. After 10 years, it will grow to a height of 1.5 meters.
It requires full sun and tolerates soil, although it prefers light, slightly acidic and not very moist soil. It tolerates intermittent drought and is characterized by very good frost resistance. Primarily recommended for rock, heather and Japanese gardens and flower beds. It also looks very interesting in large, wide pots, placed for example on the terrace.
The white pine "Blue Shag" is a devil's bone discovered by Dr. Sidney Waxman of the University of Connecticut in the United States.
