Colorado Spruce Koster

Picea pungens Koster is a beautiful tree where is spiky, silver-blue needles, small to medium evergreen tree, neat, conical growth habit. This tree makes a great accent plant in the landscape and is especially good in an architectural or low-maintenance garden. An easy tree, it does not need pruning, is free from disease, but can be attacked by aphids and the red spider mite of conifers. It must have an acidic or neutral soil, as it does not tolerate lime.

Place: Protection from cold, dry winds 

Soil: Moist but well-drained, acidic to neutral soil
