Prunus Cistena comes from a cross between Prunus Cerasifera 'Atropurpurea' or 'Pissardii' and Prunus Pumila, it displays stunning red purple foliage that will add color to your garden.

From April to May, the numerous small pink flowers provide a very nice contrast to the dark leaves of this purple-leaved black plum . Over time, the flowers lighten, almost white, and the leaves darken to reach chocolate tones in the fall. Even after losing its leaves in winter, this shrub retains a lot of interest thanks to the reddish-brown color of the bark and branches.

Withstands frosts of -20°C, Prunus Cistena reaches a maximum height of 1-2 meters with a width of 2 meters. Depending on wishes, it can be led to either a bushy bush or a small tree on the stem. Due to its small size and slow growth, this sand purple-leaved sand cherry is ideal for small gardens.
