Pinus pumila "Glauca" - Pensassembra
Pinus pumila "Glauca" - Pensassembra
Bushessembra forms dense growths that cover the ground and almost never grows higher than three meters. We usually plant the meter-high, light blue Glauca variety, which is valued not only for its small size but also for its durability. Pensassembra grows natively in the area stretching from Siberia to Japan in rocky terrain up to the northern tree line, and it even thrives here in zone VI. Long-lived pines and sembras can withstand constant sunlight and drought perfectly. They thrive in barren sand and moraine, where they grow a taproot deep into the ground.
