Picea pungens "Fat Albert" - Blue Spruce / October Spruce / Silver Spruce

Height/Width 2-4/1.5-2m. This variety of blue spruce was named after the character from the series Fat Albert and the Cobsy kids. Iselin Taimisto introduced the variety in 1981. Fat Albert is, as the name suggests, a bit "chubby". Regular and conical growth habit. The vegetation is particularly dense from below. The needles are beautifully silver. Zone 1-3.

Blue spruce (Picea pungens) grows naturally in the Southern Rocky Mountains of North America, where it thrives in sunny mountain forests even in dry places.
