It comes from South Korea above 1000 m above sea level. Dense needles arranged around the shoots, short (1-2 cm), often curled with weather changes, usually widening towards a rounded or indented top, dark green above, glossy, chalky white below. Cones appear at the age of 6-10, 4-7 cm long, very decorative, gray or blue-violet before ripening, brown after ripening, covered with resin. Height up to 15 m - rarely up to 5-8 m in our climate. Korean fir is often infected with fungal pathogens (pale, yellow discoloration of needles) - spraying with available fungicides - works. It requires fairly fertile, moist, acidic or slightly alkaline soil.

Suitability : clump or individual plantings - a very decorative variety.
