Japanese maple - Acer Palmatum `Phoenix`

Young shoots are bright red. Beautiful press. Also suitable as a potted tree. A sunny and sheltered place to grow. Zone 1-

It is one of the most beautiful and sought-after plants in the world. Its beauty is irresistible. Some people believe that a garden is worth keeping just because a palm maple is planted in it

Maple palm comes from Japan, Korea and East China. Although it reaches a height of 10 meters and the same width in its native countries, in Europe it usually does not exceed a few meters.

Phoenix palm maple is a relatively fast-growing shrub or small, attractive tree, about 5 m tall and about 3 m wide. It stands out for its unusual leaf color. Pink in spring, red in summer, in autumn the leaves go through a huge transformation and we can admire the whole color palette in the composition of red, orange and yellow. additional contrast provided by the green veins of the leaf blade. The leaves are fancifully cut, usually five-leafed. An additional advantage is the white and red striped shell. A VERY RARE VARIETY STILL APPEARS IN OUR GARDENS.

It is characterized by an irregular umbrella shape. Maples are fruit plants.

As befits a unique plant, the palm maple also deserves a unique place in the garden. It should be planted so that it looks good and is not exposed to strong winds and under the scorching sun.

The plant is suitable for planting near water, on the edge of raised flower beds, flower beds and walls, where its shape can be beautifully and fully displayed. Useful for small gardens and Japanese gardens, in the field and also in crops and pots.

Its candidacy should be considered when choosing plants for the garden.

Palm maples are also expensive and demanding, depending on their rarity.

They only decorate our garden if we take care of them properly.

They do not like damp places. They do very well in humus-rich, slightly moist, acidic soil.

It does not tolerate drought well - it needs to be watered regularly, but in small amounts

Maples should grow in a quiet place, sheltered from the wind. They form the most shapely crown in sunny places, but if the soil in the garden is not moist enough, it is better to plant them in light partial shade, otherwise the scorching sun can dry out their delicate leaves.

It is best to cover the plant when it is young and in cold winters.
